Sun Kil Moon (Mark Kozelek) 'April'

It will take something very special to beat this as my album of the year. VDGG Trisetor is good, but this is amazing.

Probably Mark Kozelek's best work since 'Old Ramon'(with the Red House Painters).

I really think Mark Kozelek is a hugely underrated songwriter. Unfortunately their MySpace is either down, or not accepting Firefox at the moment, so I don't know what he has posted there.

'Old Ramon' Red House Painters is my favourite album by him, but the three studio Sun Kil Moon albums are all wonderful too, especially this latest one 'April'.

His solo album of AC/DC covers, acoustic and so very gentle is also well worth a try, it isn't what you would expect from such a covers album.

I just love his gentle melancholy songs about lost loves, cats and dead boxers.
