~<>~ Terry Riley ~<>~

[1] A Rainbow In Curved Air (18:39)
[2] Poppy Nogood And The Phontom Band (21:38)

(Recorded in New York City 1969)

[ADD] Audio CD Sony [Import]

Is this Dumbledore!?
No it's Terry Riley and this music is very good (imho). A Rainbow in Curved Air was played on BBC Radio 3 a couple of weeks ago, and after an amazon search i purchased this pre-owned CD for a few quid.
I welcome recommendations for any 'must haves' of his music on CD, any Riley fans here? : )

I was pleasantly surprised to chance across this while searching the web for something completely different the other day. This is young Norwegian trumpeter Tine Thing Helseth's debut on disc where she plays the concertos of Haydn, Albinoni, Neruda and Hummel. I saw her in the final of the Eurovision Young Musician Contest back in 2006 where she came second (and which I thought she ought to have won, but then I am almost always at odds with the judges in these things). The Norwegian Chamber Orchestra provides good accompaniment.

regards, Tam

Hi Jeff,

Thanks a lot. I always like to check out what you are listening to also. And I have been able to pick up some new music that you and others post. This is a great thread.

I haven't been able to compare the CI to many other amps (Naim, etc). But I enjoy it. I use the extra power supply too, rather than the wallwart. It sounds very nice with my HD580s and AKG K701s. One of these day I will try the Naim or PS Audio to see how they compare. But I am very pleased with it, so won't be for a while.
