Is this any good? I was thinking of buying.

Hi Lontano,

Played it through twice last night and really enjoyed it - they've locked into a more blues groove and lost a little bit of the raunch. the songs seem to have a little more depth than their previous stuff (all of which I love with the exception of the last album which I found rather bland). I've read that the songs were actually inteneded to be recorded by Ike Turner and I can certainly imagine him playing these. Well worth the money imho!

Earlier...

Headache-inducing free jazz - in retrospect, a poor choice for Sunday morning. And what the hell is it doing on ECM anyway?

I've seen this now with quite a few reissued Jazz recordings were the alternate take is right after the original take.
I'm with you so and prefer all alternate takes at the end so I can pick and choose which ones I'd like to listen to and not disturb the flow of the main album.

Cheers ... Oliver

Superb collection - get this version (Sundazed) instead of the Rev-ola re-issue of the same album as you get a load of extra bonus tracks.

The latest from Chandos's opera in English series. Mackerras conducts the Orchestra of the Age of the Enlightenment in Mozart's Cosi fan tutte. Excellent.

Playing this as i prepare for my (3 a week) one-hour cycle ride.
Just pouring my body into my lycra kit right now as i keep looking
out the window at the blue sky day with a few white fluffy clouds : )
Hope i don't get rained on... (again)
