Rich, that is a wonderful record indeed. We now have "a Little Lovin'" Shelby Lynne at modest volume, sipping a peppermint tea. Bliss.

Mark,
I have like 20 Alpha discs and every one of them carries delicious music.
I am playing now this one which arrived today:
I hope that you enjoy Gustav Leonhardt's harpsichord.

Haim

Between the Times
I forgot how good this music was. Adrian, thanks for pointing it out to me.
Haim
Stefan,
You should post here more often to remind us of all the good stuff we have and neglect. We rely on you.
In the car today:

Medtner-Forgotten Melodies I, II, Marc Andre Hamelin, piano
By the way, my car player does not discriminate and plays everything it is fed.
Have a good weekend,
Haim

I can't be arsed posting a piccy but currently listenng to Bill Evans - Everyone Loves Bill Evans and it's brilliant.
Just finished Toumani Diabate's - The Mande Variations. Absolutely lovely, the best CD I've bought so far this year. Buy with confidence I say!

If you liked the above you will like this one as well. And you should give Rokia Traore a listen. A great voice - from Mali as well.

I wasn't precise enough: The playa playz, but the receiva (i.e. myself) doesn't enjoy the Dowland Project as much as I do at home. With other music, this is not the case, or even the opposite.

(received MY copy, today. couldn't wait for your verdict)
So what is your verdict Stefan?
Lontano, I confused you with MilesSmiles, for a second. Also, I was SO tired, yesterday, that I couldn't finish Rabo any more, but today, and with the proper volume setting (important !), I really enjoy the disc. Changing band for Lloyd was like a young blood injection. Jason Moran sparkles with energy, where Eric Harland holds it all together. Great step into the right direction (if not too late...)
what is (finally) YOUR verdict ?

Stefan,
MilesSmiles and I are having a listening session right now. He had not noticed your question and I have not listened to it since I first posted it a few weeks ago. I will listen to it tonight and let you know and maybe MilesSmiles will post his opinion as well.
At the moment we are comparing regular redbook Joni Michell Blue versus DCC version, the DCC is winning.
