Aja - Steely Dan
This is one of my all time favorite albums. I have several versions on vinyl as well as CD. I have just made comparisions between three vinyl versions. The best quality version listed below. 1 being the best.
1. Japan reissue came out 6 months to a year ago. This is the copy to have.
2. Cisco - Also released about 6 months to a year ago. Not as good as the Japan release but better than the Mobile Fidelity which is very suprising because just about every time MOFI is the best.
3. Mobile Fidelity - The cymbals on Aja sound like the speakers are frying. I thought maybe I had a rare bad pressing of a MOFI release, So I purchased 3 more copies one was factory sealed. All had the same issue.

2 superb and very different albums. RT always produces the goods. I think anyone who can write a song about an MGBGT is OK in my book.

Or a 1952 Vincent. That's my favourite RT song.

Awesome ROFT. The first album is the better one of the two though IMO. You have prompted me to give it spin later.

OK I blame/thank Fender (from the other thread).
Best £30 I've spent in ages. Any Free fans, this is a must have. Even if like me, you have all the albums. Much of this is in better sound and the live cuts include a stonking version of 'Heartbreaker' cruelly left off the CD version of 'The Free Story'.
I am one happy camper.

Sorry Stefan.....it would help if I spelt it right. The title is 'Prophesy'.....As to 'vot it is' it is hard to explain. Thoughts about the impact of technology and other forces in todays world are thrown up in short voice overs at the begining of tracks which then settle down into music with a jazz tone to it usng mainly electronic instruments.....Aw heck! the only way to find out really is to buy it.quote:Originally posted by sjust:quote:Originally posted by Geoff P:
