A wonderful program here and played by Hamish Milne on the piano in a very thoughtful, searching manner. Just finished basking in the glorious motif from the Fugue in c-, BWV 575, and am now preparing to enter the world of the Passacaglia in c-, BWV582! The music of Bach knows no bounds and is certainly greater than any constraints often placed upon it by mankind.

~<>~ Carl Nielsen (1865-1930) ~<>~
Springtime in Funen (Fynsk Forar)
(for soloists, chorus and orchestra Op. 42)
Suite from Aladdin (Orchestra only)
Three Motets Op. 55 (for a capella choir)

Just the right time of year for a taste of this superb Nielsen...
Carries a nice beat and tune that really gets your sap rising!
Thanks for the excellent recommendation Gianluigi!! ; )

Surprisingly good show on BBC Radio Northampton - Music for Grown ups with Jon Raitt.
The presenter is the nearest re-incarnation to John Peel I have heard with a wonderfully relaxed style and though the musical content is inevitably less eclectic for tea-time on BBC local radio there is still a good mix of styles
Just played Dylan, Lee Perry and the 101ers which is ok by me...

Everyone for once else is out of the building so I'm generating a little 'vibrational dusting' with this old slab of vinyl.

Porcupine Tree - Signify

Led Zeppelin Live - Blasphemy Earls Court 1975
Among a host of bits today with Munch, Julian & BigH. Thanks guys, great day.
I can see why Munch has been playing the Zep so much, it is superb. On the sample I've played so far, it's much better than 'The Song Remains the Same'.

Marc Andre Hamelin on the piano.
Highly recommended.
