It is an album by an Irish guy called Foy Vance. He has been compared to Van Morrison amongst others. Excellent album.

Some great stuff on the forum playlist against - I mean what could be better than Caravan and Emerson Lake Palmer, not much I hear you say and I agree, but here is a lady who has much to offer the very very fine Karine Polwart.

Rotf, i like Karine Polwart, very natural good singing voice. Together with the group she's in, it reminds me a bit of ~<>~Espers~<>~
Have you heard any Espers yet?... i think you'd like 'um : )

Rimsky-Korsakov: Fritz Reiner, Chicago SO - Scheherazade
One of the earliest pieces of classical music that wormed its way into my brain, via a Disney LP of all things (still have it, as well)

Hi nymph

I just listened to Espers, albeit on low quality computer playback from MySpace, and liked what I heard - it reminded me of early Fairport Convention as I thought there was an air of Judy Dyble in the singing, which is no bad thing, I also heard other influences - perhaps Trees and perhaps even some Amon Duul II - all of which is fine by me.

Thanks for the tip - they'll certain be on my list next time I visit ye olde CD shope.

Bit of a Bach thing this evening...

Geoff - I have the original, but it is battered to death - a 2nd hand purchase many, many years ago. I could never make my mind up between this or the Beecham version (of which I have three vinyl copies, but no CD)

The XRCD sounds great, I think more money will be flowing in that direction - some wonderful old titles are to be had.
