Europhile or Kirtsyphile?

Over the past few weeks I've been walking through Europe with Kirsty and throughly enjoyed her offerings. I found the whole series a bit like the best of The World Service but with pictures so if you get a chance to watch the repeats (whenever) then give them a go.

Who would you choose as a companion to walk with while following Kirsty's route?

I really do miss the radio and TV from the UK. Sky in NZ really does offer so very much of nothing.

Looks like a really interesting series.

If I was allowed only to travel with one fellow journeyman, I'd have to do the trip a few times. One of those time would surely be with Vuk - his insights into this world would be illuminating, and I'd likely learn a thing or two about photography as well.

Maybe come back in the reverse direction - tough call. Perhaps George W Bush? Could publish and dine out for years on the material that would net.

Other than that (eg, celebs aside), my wife, my friends. Looks like a cool journey.

After thinking for a few days my first thoughts tend towards a "talking Head" type of companion like David Starkey or Dan Cruickshank because I already know a bit about history and buildings and their Tv series have been quite good. But after a bit more thought I find that the idea of walking through New Europe with the double oscars winner Emma Thompson will I hope throw some light upon the performing arts of which I know next to nothing.
