I have Danko/Manuel off last months Uncut magazine cover CD, and it is brilliant. Anyone know about this band and if the rest of their stuff is up to this standard. Could be a new discovery for me.
The Will Johnson track is a blinder too!!

Search Drive By Truckers and you will find some info. Southern Rock Opera, Decoration Day, and Dirty South are all excellent and the older albums are being re-released. They also have just released a music dvd. www.drivebytruckers.com

Live show is not to be missed - if you like rowdy and fun.

Danko/Manuel? As in Rick Danko and Richard Manuel, ex- of the classic combo 'The Band'?? Can't be a new track then whatever it is - Richard Manuel committed suicide in 1978 Eek

Jon - It's a track about Rick Danko & Richard Manuel. It's brilliant. Try to hear it if you can.

I can heartily recommend both Dirty South and Southern Rock Opera. Not a duff track on either. Also worth a listen is Patterson Hood's solo album Killers and Stars.
