Another gem discovered on the Bob Harris show.

Michael Powers' album is a blues delight, drawing on diverse musical influences and features some great guitar playing.

Check out some samples from the album on his web-site. Good stuff if you like the blues.

Sounds interesting John. His latest album, Onyx Root, is £7.59 from Amazon. Definitely worth a punt, and it's an US import. I know you rate American pressings over European ones.

I got my copy from Tower USA to get the genuine article. $15.99 is about £8.50 plus postage charges.

The Amazon (UK) price sounds very competitive, if they are supplying the genuine USA made article.

Came yesterday - after first listen, pretty good. Everything comes from a Blues sensibility but mixes in jazz and contemporary songs such as Leonard Cohen's Bird on a Wire and a great cover of Sir Douglas' She's about a mover.

If you like the Blues give it a try.
