Two sides of Dave Van Ronk coming 6-4

Fantasy is planning on reissuing two DVR lps on one cd entitled "Two Sides of DVR." Tracks: Cake Walkin' Babies; Ace in the Hole; St. Louis Tickle; Death Letter Blues; All Over You; Whoa Back Buck; Sister Kate; Kansas City Blues; Green Rocky Road; See See Rider; Rocks and Gravel; Hesitation Blues; God Bless the Child; Sunday Street; Sportin' Life; Cocaine; St. James Infirmary; Good Ole Wagon; Spike Driver Blues; Gaslight Rag and Candy Man. These were originally released as "In the Tradition" from 1963 and "Your Basic DVR" from 1981. Two tunes from YBDVR are omitted due to time, In the Midnight Hour and Stagolee.

I love Van Ronk's covers of Joni Mitchell songs ... the friction between his raw, pure voice of angst and the lyrical beauty of her tunes is powerful.
