n-cent position in a cabinet

Hallo folks,

I'am constructing a sideboard for my multimedia-equipment - because there is nothing nice and convenient around. The sideboard will have six cabinets with closed fronts: three drawers and three with a hatch. The hatches at the upper cabinets are even (when open) with the bottom of the cabinet and reaches out in front of it for about 25 cm.

My question is: Does the hatch effect the sound of the n-cent? I'am afraid of producing some interference of the lovley device, so the first thought was to lift it up with a middle-tray inside the cabinet.

What are your thoughts? Thanks...

My only initial thoughts are that I housed my hifi in a cupboard with closed fronts and they ran HOT, I mean proper hot. I had a freeview box in there that actually kept turning off with the heat!

Make sure there is PLENTY of room for air, and it needs to be able to get air in possibly from below and vent out the back towards the top.

Do not think you will get away with a traditional style cabinet it needs to breath.

Thanks for your thoughts. Front and back will be open when used. CD and Nait xs are placed somewhere else anyway.

The main reason is to have it invisible when not in use (little son with fast hands)and open when in use.
