Jimmy Giuffre RIP

I missed it at the time, but one of jazz's great innovators died recently:

Really gutted to read the news this morning - a hero of mine, and a pioneer of the chamber jazz style that led to the likes of ECM. If you love that label as much as I do, you owe it to yourself to hear Giuffre's trio recordings with Bley and Swallow. ECM boss Eicher loved these recordings so much he bought the master tapes and reissued them on ECM as the Jimmy Giuffre 3's "1961". Not a complete surprise as Giuffre had suffered from Parkinson's disease for a long time, but still very sorry to lose him.

Yes sad but not surprising and not too bad an innings at 86.
1961 on ECM is a wonderful record with wonderful cover photos particularly on the vinyl.
I don't know if you have them but these two albums might interest you with the same line up but many years later under Paul Bley's name.
