Naim DVD?????

The vee-meister says their Naim rep has been promising to pop in with the pre production DVD5 but has twice blown out, saying that the R&D dept. are still playing with it. Apparently they believe that they can get better performance out of it than was seen at the show.
It seems It will be able to play DVD-A Discs and they are aiming for CD5 levels of CD replay. If they can pull that one off I will be impressed as I have yet to hear a DVD player at any price that can play CD's at all well.
I'm itching to see/hear it!!

Any one have any idea of price and availability? Currently in the market for a new DVD player for the video system but in no rush to replace the current beast (a Pioneer DVL900 Laserdisc/DVD unit) unless it really does die soon.

On an older post it was said to be available for approximately the price of a CD5 + 40% ????

Last I heard on price was £2200.
It started at £1500 however so it really is anybody's guess.

Oh and it will be flatcapable.
