The Boat That Rocked

We don't go to the inema too much these days, but taking advantage of those nice people at Orange(2-4 -1).... We went to see The boat That Rocked, silly but enjoyable, anyone of a certain age this will bring back all those magic moments , when we could actually listen to some meaning full music.
Play spot the DJ and answer the several on line quiz site for a list of all the album covers at the end, played over,Stay With Me Baby unfortunately by that dreadful Duffy.

also took advantage of the Orange deal. The film is great fun, and I remember those nights going to sleep with the tranny under my pillow. Bill Nighy was great as, er, Bill Nighy and as BigH says, it's fun spotting the various DJ's, although I'm not sure who Bob was supposed to be. Bob Harris in earlier guise?
The plot plays fast and loose with what really happened, but as they say, it was an enjoyable confection (pseud's corner applied for).
My Italian partner found it an education, as of course, at the time, it was quite a local phenomenon.
And of course, the music was excellent, although the whole sound of the film seemed (intentionally?) band-limited

Yes, I was impressed with the audio quality of these old recordings (at least through our local cinema sound system).. Must have been cleaned up a bit. I notice Amazon are doing a soundtrack CD(s) for about £10. Anyone got these and played through a decent system??

I've read the reviews and it sounds like a complete waste of time! Even worse than Richard "I Hate America" Curtis's last sad outing "Patronising, Actually"...
