Australia 1, Greece nil, no worries.

You've got about as much chance as England!

I think that Greece displayed the form that get them to Germany. It wasn't a very convincing win.

The midfield looked ok but the finising was very average. Still they qualified for the first time since 1974 but I suspect this is one worldcup that will be elusive for some time to come.

Oz are often very good/some great players - I avoided them beating England/Chelski not so long ago - nice to see them at last at WC Finals.

I've been watching Brazil on Eurosport and their outstanding players/team look quite likely to win Winnie Churchill trophy for final 3rd time (to go with their 3 Jules Rimet successes) even in Europe.

Greece ain't going to Germany though are they. They came 4th in their qualifying group and are a shadow of the team that won in portugal in 2004.

Having said that.....All the best to the Socceroos in the World Cup. Should be a great experience for the team. Is it your first one?

No, not at all, not at all. It's our second! The first one in 1974 was just a practice run, this one's for a win.

Steve,

The 1974 excursion saw the Socceroos fail to score in three games! I expect they will put that right this time.

As for winning the whole thing, you know what I think. They are still good for a major upset though.
