A Kindergarten teacher: was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work. As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was. The girl replied, "I'm drawing God." The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like." Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."
Fritz von Personally I find Sven's line-up to be absolutely fantastic, and if England get nowhere with that lot, I'll probably end up becoming a bleedin Swindon Toon Supporter in lifelong purgatory, innit*

I suppose with the most senior ranks to-date being killed in one swoop in Iraq plus a woman, It's hardly surprising nobody's mentioned that every service has been hit too, innit*
Fritz von Could still have been an accident o'course?
N.B. How inspiring for members to talk about Our Sven's Choice all of a sudden! as with last weeks UK elections which nobody on here has mentioned being a part of, is it hardly surprising this place is losing all credibility*

I have a great old picture of a squadron of dog tired dirty old ducks flying over a smokey gasworks factory in northern England somewhere Our Luigi, the artist is unknown, but it makes a great dartboard all the same, though the canvas is getting quite tatty these days, innit*

P.S. I wonder why Camp X-Ray is in US Friendly Cuba rather than Germany, Japan, or even good old Blighty, anybody care to explain, anybody care? I thought not, innit*
There's whiskey in the jar though!

That's far too deep for my little brain Luigi, though I do think Bush is right! a top Military man running the Civilian CIA will be better for all, just think of the legal advantages, not too mention extra power for Rummy!*

Dear Fritz,
As I am sure you know that not every part of the UK was involved in the Local Elections last week, and Hereford was not, so I could not post about taking part, but did post about related issues in the Her Majesty's Gov't thread to the extent of saying I would vote, and happily declare my choice when the time came. I demured to comment on the results, which appear a mixed affair. I also said that I felt I would find a debate on the issues tedious at this stage for me in the sense that there is nothing we can do till a General Election, or the next round of Local Elections involving those not involved this time!
All the best from Fredrik.
PS: My single post on the footie (in my whole time on the Forum) indicates what a vital issue I don't find the result of the World Cup, or what team is assembled or even who the coach and manager are! Fascinating stuff if one is interested I suppose! [Low bandwidth smiley].

I wonder why Sky News find it worthy to compare a lost yachter at sea and his eventual rescue, with two Tasmanian miners and their amazing rescue?

I am in the position of needing a new suit. My work environment is casual and so this will be for weddings and job interbviews etc over a hopefully considerable time period. I currently only have one suit which has lasted well and is comfortable but the place I bought it gfrom no longer exists. I want to replace it with something a little better and a little better fitting. I have read that some shops offer a measuring service and then have the suit made in the far east much more cheaply than making it in the UK. Does anybody have any experience of buying a suit this way? I am Sure Mr. M. Parry has and would welcome any advice from him or anybody else.
Golly that time of year again already*

And on a slightly different tack, to use a yachting term, why did the Daily Telegraph bury (pun not intended) a report of a Russian airliner crashing into the Black Sea with the loss of 100+ lives on an inside page and with far fewer column inches than those devoted to tittle-tattle about Blair's possible dethronment?

Noted... [Low bandwidth smiley]! Fredrik
PS: I would guess the Telegraph has an individual agenda like all sections of the news media, and though it is disreputable, it is a sad fact of life that for many politics is more important than Russian lives. No wonder I am weary of the world. Good point JoeH. From Fred

I would say that high politic domestic bullshit is more newsworthy in the 'British' Daily Tory/Telly Graph than a Russian/Bulgarian plane crash, though Sky News deem a comparison with an obviously super egoistic and to-date lucky Yachter with two miracle survivors doing their daily work, and for those who watched the twat closely, he was almost making out he actually knew the guys and was mates with them?
