If you love Nine Inch Nails

Go see them on this tour!

Trent Reznor said on his site that he will not be doing another production at this level for "quite some time"...

If you are a fan, you will dig this tour. The playing was fantastic, light show amazing and he's bringing his own sound system which sounded excellent. And the Portland Rose Garden is a giant basketball stadium. I.E. Big tin shed Their sound guy is tip top!

The crowd was so amped up yesterday night when I was photographing in the pit, it made the Metallica audience from a couple weeks ago seem like they were on Prozac!

How does this compare to previous tours?

I saw them twice on the 'Fragility' tour, Brixton 1999, and at Glastonbury 2000, they were excellent both times.

I also saw them in 2005, in Manchester, on the 'With Teeth' tour, and found them dull and lacklustre, Reptile was the only real highlight. I had seen the reformed Van Der Graaf Generator two days before that gig, and despite being 20 years their senior, they blew NIN away for energy, and discord ('Lemmings' the encore was just viscous).

Sadly I never saw them touring 'The Downward Spiral', and the tour with David Bowie only happened in the US (I would have loved to see that, there are some amazing recordings from those shows, Bowie and Reznor duetting on Reptile, Scary Monsters and Hurt).

I see Robin Finck is back on guitar, which must be a good thing.

Jamie:

I've seen pretty much the same tours you have, and I missed the tour with Bowie too! Two of my favorite performers and I missed it! UGH.

I'd call this not only the best NIN show I've seen, but one of the best live shows I've seen period! If you get a chance, don't miss it...

Any info if the tour continues to Europe esp. Sweden?
