'Long Road Out Of Eden' - The Eagles

I have a copy of the double CD from the States and reckon it's bloody good. I was sceptical and wondered if it would contain a few good tracks, and a lot of rehashed mediocrity, but not so - there's a consistent musical standard and freshness across the two discs with some great playing and trademark vocal harmonies.

If you're an Eagles fan you'll love it. Excellent recording too. It's a really nice joint production with trouble apparently taken to get a good sound. Good to see that a major band can still do it - unlike the new Springsteen album which sounds shockingly bad - as though it's been engineered for mp3 and radio play.

Hi John,

I have been sitting on the fence about buying this release until a few forum members had posted their impressions. I was worried that the album would be two sides of pot boilers, but your comments indicate that this isn't the case. I may just have to try the vinyl.

got myself a 'free' copy and to be honest i wanted to like it but i simply didn't. I will not be buying a copy, much prefer to remember and listen to 'the old stuff'!!! Not wishing to sound miserable about it but apart from a few good tracks.....It's boring and predictable. Sorry.

Predictable was probably what they were aiming for. Record buying public are not like us lot I reckon.
