Good question and one that is shrouded in mystery, not sure if I have the answer and I tend to think there is not much if any difference sonically, if its mastered and pressed well, I couldn't really call it, at least in my experience, I've even got some really thin stuff from the eighties that just sounds amazing. Supposedly the thicker pressings are less likely to warp and are quieter, however I've heard that 200grams stuff can be problematic in that area and is prone to warping.
