Nait 1 quickie

Posted by: Andrew L. Weekes on 30 November 2001

I shall probably be banned from the council of flat-earth elders for noticing this, particularly in conjunction with my other exploits recently, but I've been meaning to ask this for sometime.

My early Nait 1 has a PCB layout error that means left and right channels are reversed on the tuner input. I've had the unit 14 years or so, and it's ben serviced during that time, but I guess it's a lot older. S.no. has faded, and I can't be bothered to look inside to check (I think the s.no. is under the transformer).

Does anyone elses Nait have this little foible, or is mine a very early sample that slipped through?

Doesn't make any difference providing your not using a standard DIN-DIN. Since it's currently employed on my PC I can reverse connections.

Curious,

Andy.

Wow, wierd stuff. I will have to check mine at some point (predictably I didn't notice). Mine is a late one with a green light and a rev 7 mainboard.

Mine's an early RED LED version too, I'd wondered if it was an internal version, or just very early since it's definitely wrong.

I bought it from one of the sales guys at my dealers a long time ago, and having checked the PCB it's definitely a trackwork error, rather than any fiddling that's been going on.

As I say, it has no effect on performance, I was just curious.
