Epos es14

Recently demo a S/H epos 14, it looked quite good condition except the driver on the left seems to be re-glued before. Although not obvious but take a closer look tells you. The speaker sounded great to me partnering with my CD5/112/150. Very musical although i felt vocals were better when i had my series 5 connected to my Totem 1.

Should i buy the epos14, sounds fine condition to me, my friend ask me to try royd abbot. The epos is going for 200pounds(with epos stand) and royd about 250.

Should i also add a FC2, what difference should i be getting? What is the manufacturing dates of epos 14?

I don't know the Epos ES14 as well as the ES12, but I know I would choose any of those above the Royd Abbott. To me the Epos' sound more full and natural.

Best,
Thom

I suspect these had a DIY repair because you cannot now get replacement drivers.

Did it look like the repair would last for the next 10 years, or however long you intend to keep them, and still look good enough for you to sell on?

cheers, Martin

where are you jho? i have a pair i might be getting shut of, no driver damage, original non-bired version which seem to be held in higher esteem than later models - what would people rather listen to - epos 14's or credo's? as i have the option of geting some credo's for a pretty good price......
just for info, i think you can still get tweeter replacements from creek audio but you cant get the bass drivers anymore.
