Test your musicality

Whilst looking for a hearing test website, I found this interesting site

Test Your Musical Ability

It's good bit of fun, I got average to very good results in the three tests I did, which seem to support my decision to be passive when it comes to music Smile

Wow I got Exceptional Performance - it must come from listening to Half Man Half Biscuit for 20 years. Cool

I did it again, after all it's not something you're going to get better at, and took a little more time, and my scores improved dramatically. Mmmm, perhaps I will pick up the bass again, 15 years after discovering I was hopeless! ROTF, I can't really comment about the influence of Half Man Half Biscuit on your results, perhaps you're a natural!

Phil, you're just showing off, I got 80.6. I'm going to have to do it again, dammit Winker

Has anyone tried the rhythm & pitch tests? They're pretty good too.

i'm not convinced any of this has a great impact on 'ones' ability to enjoy music....

I sang in the church choir as a kid and learned piano and guitar for a while, so perhaps all that honed my ear?

I know I would score badly on this and my PC is ailing [cannot even defrag it] so I could not download the adobe flash player [or whatever] to allow me to take a part in it. I was dreadful in auditions, but was considered a bomb proof player in the heat of a real concert setting.

Test situations bear only a slight relationship to the "real thing" and some people are are better at tests than others. I wwould bet that some who really enjoy music would score very badly, but it is not something to worry about...

No point doing the rhythm test unless you've got Naim stuff! Winker
Got in mid 80's for all the tests

I did OK so guess I qualify for a Naim system Winker

When I checked some of the tonedeaf test phrases I thought were different, and the correct reply was the same, I still heard one or two different notes in the phrase when I repeatedly played the phrase to check.

Perhaps when one's score is high enough (or low enough...?) one gets to do a Tune Dem...
