Phono stages - info required

Posted by: bornwina on 28 August 2002

I've got an Ortofon MC15 ('standard output') on order therefore need either MC phono boards for my NAC82 or a phono stage.

I've been offered a 2nd hand Moth phono stage for £150 (£400 new?) or has anyone got any MC boards going spare?

I have a spare NAIM MC phonoboard NA 523 Typ "S" standard). I bought it with my NAC 82 four years ago but never used it because my high output MC system preferred the NA 522 MM phonoboard. Just send me an email if you are interested.

Unfortunately 72 boards into 82 will not go.

Different config and shape, pin out etc.

ps can I just mention Tom Evans The Groove ?

Harald,

I hope that's a pair of boards! You need two - one for each channel of the amp.

According to the Ortofon website the output is 0.34mV. This is fairly high so I would choose 523 'S' boards for your 82. Shahreza's would work and if Harald's is a pair, then they would be spot on too.

Frank.
