NAC 112 v. NAC 32.5

Here is my experience,

I bought a brand new 112 and 150 and flat cap2 from my local dealer in jan 2002 . This replaced a 102 hicap 180 all 5+ years old.My reason to change from this was that i could not get rid of a harshness that ruined long term listening.(inow believe the 180 the culprit)Anyway..

A very old 250 came up and i went for it, replacing the 150.The improvement if any was slight, (mainly in the highs clarity), but i did stick with it even though my wife complained about the old fashioned looks.Foolishly at the time i turned down the 32.5 that the guy i got the 250 from was selling, but later realised it might help the sale of the 150 if i had a pre to go with it.
Managed to secure it bought blind and when it arrived it was a late green led type. You can guess what my next step was, well that is when i can say for the first time that i was getting a sound that completely fullfilled me.
The 32.5 with hicap and 250 realy did it for me. I think the 32.5 with 150 may be too full in the bass, but the 150 is not the weak link in the 112 150 combo.

To conclude i rate the 32.5(with its own faults )much more musically enjoyable than the 112 but the 150 is good(better than 180)

PS ieventually sold this 32.5 but came back to another one (older with red led ) and hated it (soggy sound (recap required?)) sold that and got one of the last with green led again, love it, and now partnered with 135s.
