C.D.'s make comeback

According to an article in a well known tabloid Britain's best loved hi~fi is "The Tesco Value MC-907; retailing at £16.49. No ipod bay in sight or DAB, simply a c.d. player and AM FM radio and two way speakers.
Could this mean that c.d.'s are not dead?
We know vinyl isn't.
Tesco, by the way, according to the same tabloid newspaper, makes a whopping one billion a week.
Seems one business at least is not affected by the recession.
