Alex, in a fit of spending I bought the last one you mention on vinyl, will see how it turns out when it arrives.

Have been sniffing round here http://www.ninjatune.net and its giving me far to many ideas, the forum is very good and moves to fast!

Look forward to my new purchase.

I have Reeled and Skinned and Prince Blimey. Inoffensive stuff, but by no means landmark Warp releases.

Gary and Alex, if you like Ninjatune, definitely check out the Big Dada subsiduary. The albums by cLOUDDEAD, the Infesticons, and TTC are all essential, IMO. The Sound01 compilation provides a great overview for next to nothing. It's less than a fiver!

Garyi,

I reckon that Our Aim is to Satisfy...' is their worst album so don't be put off if you think it's a bit ropey. Give Making Bones and Prince Blimey a try (dunno about the first one).
Also check out warprecords.com (warp music section)for audio samples.

cheers

...just remembered a warp news item:

Red Snapper's new album "Red Snapper", will be released on Lo Recordings on February 24th 2003.

Well after what seems like years (and is in fact years) here comes a new Red Snapper album. But you thought they¹d split up...? Well they have as far as playing live and spending months in recording studios but they've made time to nip back into the studio and put the finishing touches to these tracks.

What's the band been up to?

Rich Thair is now making music under the name TOOB with partner JakeOne of Snapper fame through Groovetech records where he continues to do his monthly radio show.

Ali is currently recording the first four track ep with his new band which comprises himself, Ted Barnes [Beth Orton guitarist and solo album] and Gavin Clark ( Previously vocalist with Sunhouse). This is more song-orientated than the Red Snapper approach but still bears the hallmarks of Ali's distinctive bass playing.

David has formed a partnership with producer Felix Tod and former Creation Records boss Alan McGee and together they run Creation Studios in West London.

So, 7 brand spanking new tunes plus some old favourites for the fans. These come in the shape of The Sabres of Paradise mix of Hot Flush, a long deleted classic that fits perfectly with the techno jazz mood of the album + two live tracks.

cheers
