Roxy Music in HDCD

Posted by: JohanR on 25 July 2002

I just picked up Roxy Musics "Siren" in the local store. Some Japanese lettering on the cover, but it states it's made in the EU !? HDCD in bigg letters (and "Remstered by Bob Ludwig at Gateway Studio, Portland, Maine"). "Real" LP-type sleeve made of cardboard and inner one with the disk in it.
Played it quickly on the mini/lifestyle system here at the office, sounded promising. Now I can't wait until I come home and can compare it with my original 1975 LP.
Will keep you posted on the developments.

The whole Roxy back catalog was reisued recently (a couple of years back) in HDCD. I don't know if they are an improvement over the versions prior to the reissue or not but they still don't sound as good as the original vinyl

Hi there,

I went to various record shops, I notice that not only Roxy Music's back catalogue have been re-released with HDCD format. (Disappointed that it's not including 'Street Life'). Even Bryan Ferry. I bought 'Boys & Girls' yesterday, it sounds good. Hope they will re-release for 'Street Life' on HDCD.

cheers
Martin
