where can I go to buy vinyl ?

new and second hand recommendations welcome.

(and please, no smartarse tell me Carpetright or B&Q)

Any other clues for tracking down decent shops, like Motion or Knowhere on the net?

Just opposite the main Post Office.

Although this is where I mainly buy my CDs when not on-line, there's an upstairs for "gentlemen who prefer vinyl". They have a largish selection and is run by nice, knowledgeable people (proprietor's name is Daniel Parker).

They'll email you lists (and will take want lists too I believe).

I also believe they deal with quite a few of those funny chaps across the Atlantic.

There's another one in town run by a young hippie. It's in Camden Road, but the name escapes me. I think it's overpriced, but then the last vinyl I bought was in 1985!
