Sky HD Phone Connection Via Wireless

Hi
I am looking for a bit of advice - again.
Has anyone here connected their Sky HD box to their phone line via a DECT connector.

I am interested in getting Sky but because of my TV is some way from my phone socket and floor boards, walls and concrete floors between the two, I cannot connect with an extension lead

I have asked Sky a question on thier web site, but no response

In theory it should work but I don;t want to pay for a dish and box and installation only to find it doesn't work

Any thoughts?

My Sky HD box isn't connected to the phone line but I think it does need to be connected when you install it so it can authenticate. Not sure if you can temporarily run a really long cable just for this bit?

Also, I think some features like ordering box office movies requires the box to dial out. I don't use this so it dosen't bother me. Otherwise my box works perfectly not plugged in.

Suggest calling one of the Sky installer companies if you cant get an answer from sky

Wazza's right - you only need the 'phone connection for initial authentication & if you want to pay for any of the movies etc., which I don't bother with either!

Just run a long temporary extension, or hook the Sky box up to a portable TV 'till it's up & running.
