Headphone Amp question
Posted by: rgame666 on 25 May 2003
I currently have a Musical Fidelity X-Can V2 and the X-PSU driving a pair of Sennheiser HD600's.
Would there be a big improvement in moving to the Headline2 headphone amp?

i agree with Ross totally, altho the X-Cans is a good cheapie...
Try a Headline off a Hicap and be amazed!

Can you run a Headline from a non Naim amplifier?
I could certainly do with a decent headphone amp. Currently running a cheap box off the tape out of an Audio Innovations 5000 valve amp.
I thought the Headline would only work with Naim stuff.

Harry,
as long as you have a dedicated power supply for the Headline (NAPSC, Flatcap, Hi-Cap or even a Supercap) then all you will need is an RCA-DIN cable. A Naim dealer will be able to supply this, usually a Chord item.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
Looks like upgradeitis again!!!
As an english guy living in the US I have found it very difficult to audition any decent hifi without driving for hours and hours, so your advice is most welcome.

Richard,
Go here
Head-Fi ,it might answer most of your questions.
I'm using a META42 in between my NAC72 and a loaned HD600 with excellent results. There is also a DIY option!
