Don't feel like listening to music

Did it happen to you too ?

For the last two month I was very bussy. And in a way, I don't listen to music. On mornings, as I use to, I listen to the tuner.
At evenings - I listen to the tuner, and when I think to myself- let's listen to some music a second thought comes immediatly - Noooo... to go and choose a cd .... to put it on the cdi.... no no....
And I'm going to the computer, or looking if there is something on TV(usually there is not).
Do you think I have to give a visit to the Doctor ?

A few days ago I visited the Tower Records branch
in Tel Aviv. I was surprised to find that they are selling new vinyls. If new vynils are comming to Israel, which is a very small market, is it a sighn to the "come back" of vinyl?

Music can be truly mood altering: it can make you happy, sad, excited, depressed, exalted, disturbed, elated, shocked and much more.

But sometimes the last thing you want to do is sit and listen.

When I feel hyper active after a day at the office or whatever, I find it very difficult to simply be still - it is a physical rather than a mental thing.

So I go out on my bike or go for a run which I find very relaxing, then I am more in the mood to listen to music, or to read or to watch tv.

cheers

Might your problem be seasonal? When it's nice outside, I'm too busy to listen to music--I hear it in the background though. When it's cold and lousy out, I'm much more likely to settle in with an LP or a CD.
I just got a 102/HiCap as well. I'm no longer obsessed with it, but I'm glad it's there. Maybe your upgrade honeymoon is over.

I am assuming that the weather's pretty good all year round in Israel so I don't think it's that. I was the same when I got my new system like a child with a toy discovering new things in the music. Now it's there when I want it but I don't want it all the time. I bought "Kind of Blue" the other day as recommended in the Music Room and couldn't pull myself away. Now it's in the CD stack ready for when I want to listen to that genius of Miles and his band.
Of course here in the UK, the weather is better and that also means that we want to get outside since other times of the year you'd rather be in listening to the music in the warm.
Relax and be safe in the knowledge that your little gem is there when you want it

Ayre,

Whenever I have gone off music for more than a few days I have found that it was the system that was at fault.

One example of this, is when I first upgraded from a Snaps to a HiCap. I stopped listening for a while and when I came back to the system felt that it sounded kind of harsh.

I eventually traced this down to poor connection on the back of the Asak cartridge. Pulling the leads on and off (carefully) cured the problem. Upgrading seems to highlight problems like this.

A later example was a faulty mains connector into the back of the HiCap.

As you've recently upgraded your system I suspect that there may be a similar fault somewhere. Do you find your LP12 just as dissapointing as the CD?

If so then it's likely to be a fault with the amp or speakers or connectors to and from them.

I suggest you switch the system off and disconnect, check, and then reconnect every lead you can find including mains plugs.

If this fails then you should consult your dealer.

Good luck.

It is something in me, like few are saying, I was to excited and tensed for the last two month, maybe the next days will be relexed.

The 102/hi/napsc is superior to the 72/hi and I feel it strongly - the "problem" is not with the system.
