Going Left, Right...

Chaps,

I am in the process of moving my kit around the room to find the optimum configuration (for music and family) before committing myself to dedicated spurs for the hi-fi. No point installing them until I am happy with where the kit is going.

I have now found the best place for my speakers (IMO) but I have an option of placing my electronics to the left or to the right of the speakers. Does placement of the electronics to one side or the other affect the sound?

Does anyone have any opinion about which side is best?

Seagull,

I would be surprised if placing your sistem to the left or the right will make a difference, but try each alternative and see what sounds best to you and looks most acceptable to you.

At the end of the day its you that has to live with it.

Regards

Have you tried placing them under the speakers? It depends on the size of the speakers of course, but slim floorstanders sit nicely on top of a hi-cap. Kans are a bit tricky, either daisy chain 15 hi-caps together or if yourrunning an active system stand a pair of 135,s end on end and plonk em on top. (Dont drill and tap the casework for spikes, it invalidates the guarantee)

I have found that when listening while reading the Daily Telegraph, everything sounds better if it moves left yet the effect is reversed when reading the Guardian.

I've tried when reading the Mail or Express but the quality of their journalism means that I simply cannot concentrate on anything else... Big Grin
