Naim label CD's?
Posted by: Jack Dotson on 09 April 2006
I'm fairly new to this forum, but I've not seen the Naim label CD's mentioned. I received a copy of The number 2 Sampler with my CD5i and the music is really good and the sound is awesome.
I like it so much that I ordered all the other samplers, with the exception of the one that has all classical music, not into that.
Just curious how you guys felt about these recordings.

I like a lot of the Naim stuff. The Charlie Hayden and Lawrence Hobgood piano/bass stuff is really nice, as is the Espiritu guitar/piano disc. I go for quiet stuff at the end of a hard day. BTW - the vinyl sounds amazing.

Very glad you asked.
I give my highest recommendation to these two albums:
Dreamhouse
Remember the River
The latter is also available on vinyl.
By the way, I have no connection whatsoever to these albums, no affiliation with the Naim label, and there's no reason in the world for me to recommend these particular albums other than my love of really good compositions played really well and recorded really well. I have no agenda to push, such as wanting people to buy my albums, or any other self-serving motive one could conceivably suspect of me. Honest.
Enjoy!

Fred
With such brazen and effortless dissimulation, you should really think of turning to politics.

Graham, that all depends on what your definition of "is" is. (if needed, insert emoticon here)

Fred,
What a strange coincidence! I have absolutely no connection to Foo Foo's H2C and Daniel Mulhern's Pigeon Coup either, yet I'm convinced everybody should buy one of each.

Great minds think alike, Phil.
Of course, feeble minds also think alike. (if needed, insert emoticon here)

Fred,
Do not beat yourself up, they are both really good albums.

I know 'Remember the River' and Foo Foo's 'H2C' as I have them in my collection and they are very fine albums indeed. There's lots of great music on the Naim label and that it is so well recorded is a bonus.

It is a pity that The Devils Trill has dropped out of the catalog.
Also I give a vote of support to Fred's offerings as well as many of the other Naim label CDs.
