Well here it is then, started... Big Grin

A place for discussion of all things Rugby, whether club, national or international...

The next joy we have to look forward to is the Rugby World Cup. (I imagine it is at this point some of the NZ forum members will join in...)

Any comments, chaps? Or still a bit too early?

Ah, the nomadic existence that is the 'London' Wasps. But they used to be based a few hundred yards from my back door in Sudbury and they still train in Acton.

James is absolutely right. The idea was to have a bit of banter on here, travel around and meet up with forum members who enjoy rugby, watch a few games, have a few beers together and inevitably talk about music and hi-fi.

We could even attend an England game or two together if people are up for it.

Ryan, looks like you're our Sale correspondent!

Quite happy to be the northern representative of forum club. Would be great to catch up with more people from the forum.

I know Mark, I was just making a point for the sake of banter! Like I said it would be great to meet other forum members even if it was outside of hifi.......can't beat gentlemen playing the hooligans game!! With a few scoops afterwards too.

So here in NZ, the great "Maternity Leave" debate is going full swing. Has this news reached your shores?

Essentially Chris Jack and Doug Howlett will miss the first test against South Africa to see their first child born.

Now half the country reckons they should be forced to play!

I'm sure South Africa are hoping they go to the birth too Big Grin

Sale are also my nearest Premiership team, but as mentioned earlier on another thread I started "following" Wasps from a young age and have stuck with them. If I remember correctly at that time Liverpool (with a certain Mike Slemen?) and Waterloo were more prominent Nort-Western teams.

And quite right too, Mark. I was hoping you might have been able to encourage Ryan to 'see the light' as he is from the same part of the world. But at least he hasn't been tempted to the dark side!

Oi Mark, it was your bloody idea to start supporting Sale so don't be blaming me....like I said my services are available ofr the right price.... Big Grin

Evenin' Mr H......how was the hols? I don't see why we couldn't incorporate some rugby into the drinking!!! I thought you were more into playing with round balls..... but there you go.

Mark I see that the Wasps v Sale game early in season is up this end. The meeting up and accommodation is still on offer.
All the best.

Hi Ryan,

Hols were great thanks, sorry I didn't get to see you when I got home. I'll either drop you an email or phone over the weekend.

Sounds like a rugby/drinking/hi-fi/more drinking get together could be on the cards......

Too far away I think you said. But never mind, it's too late now, you've been installed as the Member for Sale. Winker

So far we have:

Wasps:
Chillkram, Jamie Wednesday, Markah.

Tigers:
JWM, Polarbear.

Gloucester:
Flyfisher

Sale:
Ryan_d

Peter (Cymbiosis) is a Saints fan although he doesn't visit the rubber room.

That leaves quite a few clubs with no sponsor here. Anyone else to nail their colours to a particular mast?

Don't forget Nick From Suffolk for GLAWS.

Put me down for the London Irish I've been to a few of their games...

Oh and Wellington and the Hurricanes and the All Blacks. I don't want to be picky, I need to share the love around.

I'm glad we've got a nice easy first home premiership game of the new season. Big Grin

I don't really have a team near me, with the nearest team being Leeds and you'll never catch me supporting a team from Leeds, no matter what sport!

So you'll have to put me down as a Wasps fan and, if we're going Super 14 too, a Crusaders fan.

Easy option, I know with the latter but my sister emigrated there a few years ago so I do have some connection with the area! I've even been to Lancaster Park!

Quite right too. I'm sure that there's plenty of former ABs jumping up and down in the press questioning their masculinity, virility and desire to play for the ABs.

Chris Jack is laughing now as he's nailed on for a test spot after the injuries to Williams, Robinson and Eaton. But Howlett needs to play as he's quite a way down the pecking order now.
Posted on: 17 June 2007 by ryan_d
Hey if we can find Howlett some link to SCotland I'm sure we'd have him.... Big Grin

That's nice, I am no longer a lone GLAWS supporter (on the forum, that is).

How about getting more grass route support from other parts of country for the Forum Rugby Club, otherwise it seems like the East Anglian Mafia have taken over.

Got my GLAWS 2007/8 season ticket in the new stand confirmed.

Just touching base Winker

Flyfisher

Don't forget me FF, I'm not from East Anglia. Besides, I can't see why those germans would be interested in rugby anyway! Big Grin
