The next joy we have to look forward to is the Rugby World Cup. (I imagine it is at this point some of the NZ forum members will join in...)

Any comments, chaps? Or still a bit too early?

My Glaws season ticket popped through the letter box today.

Inside with all the goodies, was a flyer for the Middlesex 7s. Buy a ticket at £30.00 Frown get one FREE that makes 2 tickets for £15.00 each Smile

Is there any one up for the other half and are any of the other clubs offering this deal.

I forgot it is on Saturday 18th August.

Not me Ryan. Just off to spend some time in the mountains. I'm hoping to take in the Marciac jazz festival while I'm there as well. If the tour's on I may have a look though. It passed by where I was staying in the Alps a few years ago. Awesome sight!

We stayed near Auch in April. Try St Mont the local Red & Rose wines, very good.

Have also been to Marciac but not for the jazz festival, the place goes mad at festival time.

Recomend holiday autos for car hire if you collecting from Bagnac (Toulouse Airport).

We also stayed near Auch in August last year, a place called Peyrusse Grande.

Thanks for the tip about the car hire FF. I'll try them as it's a bit expensive out there.

You book through Holiday Autos on line- most cost effective car hire. I have had Hertz and Europcars through them out of Toulouse Airport.

I'll tell you what, James; if Wasps and Leicester get to the final again, I'll gladly stand a round of tickets for me, you, Jamie Wednesday and Flyfisher, just to watch you boys get whipped yet again!

I was away over the weekend so didn't post about the England v Wales game, but, strange as it may seem, I was a bit disappointed by the England performance.

The scoreline may say 62-5 and the stats be overwhelmingly in favour of England, but the inability to pick out an overlap or run a cutting line is a real worry. England will face many teams who are not overwhelmed by their pack (I'm sure Wales' first team wouldn't be!) and they will be left with no plan B.

It is not just the early season dodgy handling that was the problem - that will get better and sharper with games. It was the basic lack of understanding of when to go it alone and when to release a team member, to take the ball right up to contact, drawing out the defender before playing the pass to put a team-mate in to score. Joe Worsley was a big offender. Sadly he was not alone and only Dallaglio's excellent offload near the end offered some redemption in this respect.

I hope England are not going to play like this in the RWC or it will be very frustrating.

Anyone else pleasantly surprised by the well rested, trained (and ripped) Scottish squad.....??

The score doesn't really tell the whole story, as I think they relaxed a bit too much in the second half - just as Ireland raised their game......but to see the passing play and the forwards take the fight to them was a refreshing change!!

First victory over Ireland since 2001 too!!

Can't wait for the World Cup.

Cheers,
Ali
