The core is still exists

I remember the argues about the "new" Naim when Naim came with the new "5" seria.
Do you remember how many members claimed that here is the end of the "old" line for the "new" one ?
Members gussed that the 102 is dead and so on the other classical equipment.
I remember that Paul Stephenson stated that Naim are not going to stop manufacturing the old style 102.
Now we can see, that the 102,82,52,140,180,250,135
are still on the products' line.

I'm saying this because of the fear of few members who are thinking again that the new line of products is killing the treditional one.

I also think that as long as Naim will continue manufacturing the "classical"
equipment for the old castomers, we can live with all their new lines and systems.

It is okay if the new Naim castomers will finance and help manufacturing the classical equipment that we love, and as I said once, , if Naim will stop manufacturing the classical equipment, maybe ours will become an expensive and rare equipment ...

Thanks for welcoming me, Ken.

Hakan,

Maybe I didn't explain myself correctly.

Most of the audio customers are looking for surround systems, for new technologies, for impressive data sheets and the like.

I realy think, that if a company will ignore this direction of people willing, it may stay far behind.

If you look around, especially for what the young fellows are looking for, you'll find (that's what I see, I'm not suggesting that I am investigating
The market) that they hear the music via TV musical broadcasting like the MTV, or by musical videos/dvd with surround systems.
You will also find, I think, that most of them are blinded with new technologies (that are popping each day) and are spending money to follow the new technologies – when the main issue is a good TV set, a multi channel amps and several speakers for surround sound.

The daily newspapers are full with these technological stories but not with the Naim forum; at least it is so here, in Israel.

The bottom line, I think, is that a company must be prepared to these fellows who are growing on this materials. Many of them are now having high positions and influence – and they don’t know Naim, and I think that they are not interested in stereo systems at all.

So maybe, Naim and the others, must looking forward and manufacturing products to match the new video/dvd and surround technologies, and by doing so, they are capable to continue manufacturing our classical stereo products.

Hakan,
There is a say in Hebew - "What comes first, the egg or the chicken" ?
So as you think, I suggest that we put it this way :
Nowadays, by buying the old Naim products, we put money on Naim new products, and so the sales of the new products will at the future put money on our old stuff when only old people will look after it ....
cool
