what are you about to buy

Posted by: Tam on 15 April 2007

As I was glancing through the MDT website, I came across a couple of interesting discs due for release next month, it occurred to me a thread flagging interesting new things could be handy so:

This disc of Tennsted conducting the Glagolitic Mass.

And this of Jansons doing Mahler 1 with the Concertgebouw. Actually, I was a little disappointed as I first stumbled across it on the orchestra's website. And it seems to be out now over there.

So, what forthcoming releases have you got your eye on (be they CD or vinyl).

regards, Tam

New one from The Cinematic Orchestra released 7th May on Vinyl and CD

Laid back soulful jazzy vibe should be great.

While we are at Beethoven ... I wonder how it will sound though (1943ish).

Thanks Tam, I've not heard about those BBC Tennstedt recordings.

A search has turned up a recording of Beethovens 9th with the LPO and soloists

I have just ordered:

Mose Allison - Mose Allison sings. From 1957.

Jim Ford - Sounds of our time 1967-73. He are supposed to be one of the great forgotten ones in rock music. Hasn't heard any of it but are looking forward.

Svante Thuresson - S.T. & vänner. A Swedish crooner.

Neil Young - Live at Massey Hall 1971 CD+DVD. Probably doesn't need any presentation.
