UNKLE--Do Androids Dream of Electric Beats

Two weeks ago I read a post here that recommended this 3-disc set from HMV, UK. Seeing the outrageous prices it was going for on Ebay I doubted that I'd be able to find a copy but HMV did come through. All I can say is, electronica (don't care for that label) fans, don't sleep on this. Each disc is a single, 60-minute mix. Superbly paced, wonderfully conceived.

Don't know who recommended this to me here but I gotta say THANKS> Take your props........

I'm finding it entirely difficult to find on any of the standard website (absound.ca, amazon.ca, towerrecords.com, etc.). Of those, only Tower had even heard of the band UNKLE.

I've also checked with allmusic.com, and they don't mention that particular album.

You say you got it from HMV? I'll check with them, although their site wasn't very responsive this morning.

I was only able to find it at HMV.UK

Look for an older post from Alex Garrard which contains a link or--heck, I'm sure you'll be able to find their site. I didn't find it on tower.jp or US or amazon. When I first ordered it I was notified that it was out of stock, which I kind of halfway expected since these things were initially going for outrageous prices on ebay. But then I was notified that they'd shipped it. One of the ebay postings stated that it is limited to a quantity of 500 but I don't know any facts about that. It may have just been hype. Regardless, it is a very good mix-cd set. I only wish they'd divided each disc into more than one track.

Oh, another recommendation which I haven't looked for on the internet but is *superb* is the "Nobody Beats the Beats" compilation I picked up in Denmark last summer. This two disk set is just solid solid hip-hop and funk. Find if it you can, buy it if you are lucky.

Have people been able to find this album ?

I've just spent a day in London, and found some nice discs ( zwan, Stone gossard Etc.) and didn't see this album; But I do know a local shop in Newcastle has them at £20.00. Assuming this is marked as a promo item, three discs in paper slipcases, all in a green outer with an orange drawing ?

Anyone need help in getting it? post a request.
