Golf as a team sport - The Ryder Cup

I, for one, am looking forward to watching the competition - a very "young" (ie:experience) US team against the Europeans domination, albeit with several veterans passed over in Faldo's selections.

Although a "team" event, the purity of golf remains as it comes down to individual contests within the formats - my favorite being match play.

I will bump as necessary/appropriate through the week. Any interest out there ?

Just in from my first outing on the Old Course @ St Andrews - even managed a birdie in amongst all the dross. Fantastic sunny weather with only a light gale. Perfect. Lovely course, full of interest and challenge. Smile

Nice one Ian. Its the one good hole in an othewise unremarkable round that persuades us to make another appearance on the first tee...

I haven't played St Andrews, but did manage Carnoustie the day after Lawrie (?) won the open.
