IXO crossover and non-naim amps

As a new member of the forum, and as a relatve newcomer to naim gear I have a question regarding the IXO crossover. Can it be used with non Naim amps? My system at present is CDX\audiolab 8000C
+P\Credos.
I intend to purchase naim amps in the future when funds allow, but I have the oportunity to obtain a second 8000P cheaply. If I do so can I use an IXO to make the speakers active? Is it worth it.
The difficulty is that I cannot borrow the 8000P, and an IXO to try it for myself.
