Vinyl Backlog

I have heard mention, from a salesman at a local shop, that in the US there are really only 7 pressing facilities and they're running pretty much around the clock. That demand has outstripped supply by a considerable margin and that there exists a substantial backlog for new pressings.

Would anybody here be in a position to verify that information?

It seems to me, obviously without researching the business case, that there exists opportunity for new entrants, providing sufficient start-up capital, or for expansion of existing facilities. Is there any reason this shouldn't be?
