John Lydon in Record Collector

Interesting interview in Record Collector with JL this month. He can't use the name Rotten as Malcolm Mclaren owns it.

He is annoyed Virgin have the lost the masters for the early Pistols work. He says digital storage of music is worthless. Hence the re-issues are on vinyl.

He slags off a few people, as you'd expect

The Clash at their best were mediocre. Joe Strummer was a nice guy who said stupid things.

He doesn't like Bono, Bob Geldoff, Sting, Mick Jagger or admire the Beatles - especially John Lennon. He does like some Beatles music though. I think he likes to be controversial.

Interestingly he does like Keith Emerson who he says is a great bloke and he cites Dave Gilmour, as making great music and a really terrific guy - I'm with you there JL.

Oh and he doesn't like Malcolm Mclaren - a man who deserves no credit and wears a woman's coat.

Worth a read though.

He says as he's met people his views and respect for those people has changed
