XPS vs XPS 2 ????

Hi, im hoping someone in the know can advise me? Im a very happy owner of a CDX 2 and would love to add the separate power supply. Ive seen that i can get a second hand XPS for around £1200 vs an ex dem XPS2 for £1900. The question is what is the difference between the the XPS and XPS2 in terms of sound quality? Appearance isnt important to me so the £700 saving appeals... unless there is a compromise in the sound ill get.. Thanks in advance!

Thank you! the comments help, its one of those situations where id love to be able to save £700 ish, but if im going to spend that amount of money in the first place i dont want to make too bigger compromise.. The CDX2 is my first bit of Naim kit, and i love it, bust as yet i havent got my head round all the power supplys and upgrades that are availble. thanks again Hawk

MASSIVE!

Tried with CDX, CDX2 and CDS3. The XPS2 was the best box of the 4!!

I don't know first hand, but I read a review in HiFi+ that the result of using a XPS2 with a CDX was better than using a CDX2 with an XPS. So it seems that in this combo, the XPS2 is the real star. CDX2/XPS2 must be awesome.

Hmm, has anybody here made the step from CDS2/XPS to CDS2/XPS2?
And what's about the influence of the newest Burndy, maybe that's
the whole trick?

I have just purchased a new S-XPS Burndy for my CDS2/XPS. I think it is a worthwhile improvment.
I haven't demoed the XPS2 (and I won't!!!! Eek)
