HDX artist renaming

Hello everyone...quick question...have searched but cannot find the answer, though lots of discussions near the issue.

Have a lot of comps on hdx and want to be able to name the individual artists on each song rather than them all simply apppearing as 'various artists'.

When I right click on a track (using dtc), I'm given the option of renaming the song, but the rename artist field is greyed out. Same happens if I use the Edit drop down.

Am I missing something, or is it not possible to rename individual artists on comps in hdx.

Apologies if this has already been answered elsewhere and I failed to find it.

It can't be done. Better memorize which artists belong to which compilations!

It's the same with names of composers, which are presented by first name then last. Not very useful when the rest of the world refers to classical composers by last name.

I believe the problem is inherent in the structure of the All Music Guide database from which the HDX or UnitiServe retrieves metadata.

iTunes is better organized. A compilation album shows up with 'Various Artists' in the album title ; track artists are shown under 'Artist' and can be sorted.
