next step

Last days of 2002 I replaced CD5/112/Flat-cap/150 with the new
CDX2
282/Hi-cap
250
JMLab Electra 946
on Soundstyle
and no dedicated spurs

Sound is very good. I would like to add more warmth. What should do the trick: fraim, XPS, 2nd 250 (The speaker allows bi-amping) or something else?

What is your experience saying?

Thanks,

Emil

Emil,

I don't know your speakers, but I would expect them to be transformed by these changes:-

Spur first, this is cheapest, and will give a very big improvement. Do this, even if you do nothing else.

I would suspect that Fraim would be next - it just brings so much music out of what you already have. Be careful in your setup that the 282 & CDX2 are well away from the 250 & HiCap - either two separate racks, or a tall level between HiCap & 282 or some such arrangement.

The CDX1 is absolutely transformed by the XPS. Presuming the same for the CDX2, this should be next on your shopping list.

cheers, Martin
