CD ripping service in the UK

Posted by: Hedstrom on 20 November 2010

Hello.

I have had my HDX for almost a year and I still have just ripped a small part of my huge CD collection. I now start to realize that it never may get done and I have looked up some of the CD ripping services on the web. Do any of you have good experience with any of these?

Best

Hi Peter,

How many CDs do you have? I ripped over a 1000 in 2 months. Stick one in as you are passing.....

Regards

I'd agree with that suggestion. If (when?) I ever get round to swapping my DVD5 (used as transport) and getting a Unitiserve or HDX, I will probably not make any specific effort to rip everything at once, but will only rip things I am about to play. Life is too short ... Smile

Well... I have about 1500 CDs that need to be ripped. If each CD takes about 5 minutes to rip, we are talking about 7500 minutes (if we do not allow for any lost time in between the rips). If I set aside one hour per day, seven days per week for this, it will take about four months to get the CDs onto the HDX. If there is a ripping service that works well and does not cost a fortune, it certainly seems like a pretty good idea to me.

Personally I can see many better uses of my time than ripping CDs, but as we all know, de gustibus non est disputandum.
