Has anyone bought Vinyl from Norton Records in the US?
Check out www.nortonrecords.com
They carry a bunch of Pretty Things, Sonics, Flaming Groovies etc re issues.
Prices are 8 to 12 of your American dollars which seems very reasonable, if the

quality and service are any good.

Norton is an excellent label, I have bought some re-issue stuff through an Indie dealer in town here. An equally good label is[URL=www.SUNDAZED.COM]. You owe it to yourself to check this site out...

Billy Miller and Miriam Linna who run Norton are 2 of the nicest people you could hope to meet. I've bought tons of stuff from them over the years without any problems. In addition to releases on Norton they sell a lot of music on other labels, be sure to ask for a copy of their catalog. Even if you don't order anything from it teh catalog is worth getting just because Billy's comments on the records are frequently hilarious. For example Norm Fox and the Rob Roys' immortal "Pizza Pie" is described as "Too idiotic to believe".

A warning: Norton is NOT an audiophile label, these guys are music lovers and collectors. Don't expect 180 gram pressings and 3 dimensional imaging. Some of the music they sell has been dubbed off 78s or rare singles, the master tape if there was one may be long gone. What you will get is terrific music. The Norton web site has this amusing note on their new release "BEST OF TWIST-A-RAMA: 1960'S NY STATE GARAGE BANDS VOL. 1" :
"Audiophile alert: This album mastered from a mint copy of the TWIST-A-RAMA LP. Due to the primitive fidelity and astonishingly low grade plastic used on the original 1965 pressing, surface noise is detectable. It is presented in the highest possible fidelity."
