Please help us name this friendly one year old male cat that showed up at our back door last week. Name has got to be wife-friendly. Thanks.

Obviously a pro-life type but let 30% be unable to get medical assistance

I think 'Radar' (the ears) and my daughter thinks 'Comet' or 'Chequers'......
Good luck!

Must say I think 'Radar' is a good one.
The best name I gave to cat was given to me by the cat herself. Mip could not meow very well, and just made the sound 'mip', so that is what she was called.
I also knew of a dog called sparky, because they picked up a hot log from a fire and singed their whiskers.
My current cat is called China, not my name, she was from a rescue centre, but that is too delicate for her, so either Chutz of just 'her ladyship' are used.
On those grounds I would see if the cat inspires a name themselves.
Failing all those, I might go for 'Dude', a bit American but it looks like a cool cat.

How about 'Generic'

I inherited my two cats from a neighbour when she moved across the pond to Ireland. The male, 'Gizmo' is black and white; the female, 'Audrey' is more tabby. Why anyone would name a cat Audrey still makes me laugh, but Gizmo is a great name.

Well you wanted it to be wife-friendly!!!
There are plenty of Naim like names that would suit. How about SNAXO or NAPSC or UNITI? All good names for a Naim friendly cat.

I've always thought and heard from animal people that a name with a sharp sound catches their attention more than say bob or such.

Might be worth getting him scanned for a chip in case he's gone missing from somewhere. We adopted a stray but checked for a chip first, and advertised his pic locally in case a family was missing a pet.

If he begins to spray around the house, you could call him Sprinkles.

Thank you for all the suggestions, they provoked much discussion. I'll post the final verdict when we decide. Thanks again.

Cute pussy ..
Do be careful with kitty lounging around in the sun with that pink nose.
They can easily get cancer.. My dearly departed ' Mowzer ' had to have a scab /sore removed.
He looks like a ' Sylvester '.... Or.... if female ' Molly '.
Research a good diet for him / her.
Cats need a high animal protein , low carbohydrate diet, this helps maintain a healthy weight. Dry kibble is high in vegetable protein and will generally give puss urinary problems.
Wet food is considered better than dry.
