Movies that are strong on good dialogue

Can anyone recommend any films/movies (preferably British such as 'The Draughstman's Contract' or American '12 Angry Men'?)which are strong on good dialogue for someone who wants to improve their English? No films with Arnie, Rocky or directed by Tarantino please.

Not sure exactly what you're hoping to achieve but I find virtually any Dickens production makes me sit back and take delight in the English language. For example Little Dorrit from a couple of years ago was a real pleasure.

Why no Tarantino? His movies are full of wonderful dialogue.

TomK,

Well she does not like reading books and needs to improve her English and watching the usual crap films everyone watches here (teenage mutant hero vampire psycho)won't help much. I'm looking to bridge the gap and introduce her to reading.

I quite like a couple of Tarantino films but I rather think his films are full of cartoon characters speaking cartoonese smart mouth rather than real dialogue. I expect he reads cartoon magazines. I think he is massively overestimated. Just an opinion. I appreaciate my views on Tarantino put me in the minority.

I was just about to put forward Pulp Fiction, which I really rate highly. I do get why many would find it a superficial. I don't think it is deep or significant, but it is entertaining and clever. The appeal is largely driven by the dialogue.
